Omschrijving

A beautifully hand carved woodcock adds a touch of natural charm to any home.

The DecoBird Woodcock, with its round body and watchful eyes, adds a personal and natural element to bookshelves, home offices or living rooms.

Craftsmen handcraft these Swedish wooden birds using wood and water-based paint. Because each bird is handmade, they have slight variations, making each piece unique.

About the woodcock

The woodcock (Scolopax rusticola) was first described taxonomically in 1758 in Systema Naturae by Carl von Linné. It is a long-billed, round and robust migratory bird with large eyes set far back on its head and a wingspan of 56–60 cm. Woodcocks have a thriving worldwide population and breed mainly in Russia and Fennoscandia. During courtship, the male woodcock flies along a specific route at dusk, known as 'roding'. This route takes about 12 minutes and has been used for hunting.

DecoBird from Wildlife Garden

Each DecoBird is the result of a close collaboration between experts in ornithology, design and craftsmanship. The result is a unique collection of hand-carved wooden birds, each with its own personality.

These handmade birds make an ideal gift for bird and nature lovers. Their authentic and detailed design makes them popular with collectors and a stylish addition to interiors, complementing both modern and classic styles. Schools also use them as teaching aids or to add a creative touch to classrooms.
