About the Gouldian Finch
The Gouldian Finch, also known as the Lady Gouldian Finch, Gouldian Finch or Rainbow Finch, is a brightly coloured bird native to northern Australia. It nests in tree hollows in open, sparse woodlands. Their numbers have declined over the past millennium, partly due to a reduction in their natural habitat.
In the past, people exported the birds worldwide and there are several captive bred populations worldwide. Today, export is prohibited.
