About the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo: The curious, talkative and intelligent Sulphur-crested Cockatoo is probably the best known cockatoo. It is also one of the loudest Australian birds and lives in large colonies of up to a hundred individuals. Found in Tasmania as well as eastern and northern Australia, they prefer to nest in tree hollows or cliff ravines where they lay 2-3 eggs. The chicks hatch after four weeks and are ready to fly after 70 days.
