Matias insect hotel
Omschrijving
The Matias insect hotel helps bees find a nesting place. Since the bee population has been declining for years, it is important to help them by hanging an insect hotel. The hexagonal house is made of WoodStone; a mixture of wood fibre and concrete. This combination guarantees a long lifespan. The bamboo interior can be replaced after a while. This way, insects can nest in it again.
Woodstone is produced in Europe. It is an insulating and breathable material and has a long lifespan. We give a 10-year guarantee on the body of the Culebra insect hotel. Place the Insect Hotel in a sunny spot near flowering plants.
How does an insect hotel work?
• Bees collect pollen
• They put that in the bamboo interior
• When they have collected enough, they lay an egg and cover the brood cell with a layer
• They repeat this for each brood cell they want to make until the tube is full
• When the eggs hatch, the pollen provides food for the young bee and it works its way out to fly out.
