The Little Tern mug is part of a series of 6 different Wadden Sea Bird mugs. In addition, there are 6 different mugs available in the Weidevogels series. Designer Elwin van der Kolk, the Dutch biologist and nature painter, was fascinated by the nature around him at a young age. He spent a large part of his youth bird watching and drawing birds. In his drawings he tries to capture nature in such a way that the viewer is encouraged to admire and protect nature. This modern mug is made of New Bone China porcelain. This material is baked in one go at a temperature of 1250-1300° Celsius. The added bone ash gives the material a light cream color and makes it translucent. In addition, it is a very strong material and can even be produced in a very thin shape. New Bone China has become very popular in recent years thanks to these properties and the favorable price.
