It is a fact that bird species such as the woodpecker but also the squirrel like to take over a great tit birdhouse to nest in themselves. It is also possible that these animals steal the eggs or young birds of the great tit by chiseling out the entrance hole so that it becomes larger. The protection plate has an entrance hole with a diameter of 32 millimeters, making it still suitable for great tits. We recommend that you mount the plate outside the breeding season.
