DecoBird Small Crossbill
Omschrijving
DecoBird Minde Crossbill - Naturally fine wooden bird
A strong and beautiful bird with its crackling plumage and crossed beak tip. The wooden bird is as much a design object as a lifelike and detailed representation of the smaller crossbill. A real craft full of energy and joy that is hard to resist!
Loxia curvirostra is the scientific name. Loxia comes from the Greek and means "bent sideways". Curviostra means "bent beak".
As the name suggests, the lesser crossbill has a characteristic crossed bill. This is a large finch with a split tail that lives in coniferous forests. The male is brick red while the female is olive green. The bill is used to pry seeds from cones.
DecoBirds is the signature family of Wildlife Garden, a beautiful craft of timeless Swedish design. A diverse family of birds with beautiful hand-carved details and expressions that fascinate. The birds become inspiring design gifts and treasured collectibles.
