This protection plate blue tit birdhouse from the Esschert Design brand ensures that the entrance hole of nest boxes for blue tits cannot be chiseled out by other bird species. It is namely the case that bird species such as the woodpecker but also the squirrel like to take over a blue tit birdhouse to nest in themselves. It is also possible that these animals steal the eggs or the young birds of the blue tit by chiseling out the entrance hole so that it becomes larger. The protection plate has an entrance hole with a diameter of 27 millimeters, making it still suitable for blue tits. We recommend that you mount the plate outside the breeding season. The protection plate is supplied including screws.
