Elwin van der Kolk, the Dutch biologist and nature painter, was fascinated by the nature around him at a young age. He spent a large part of his youth birdwatching and drawing birds. In his drawings he tries to capture nature in such a way that the viewer is encouraged to admire and protect nature.
