About Chantarellen

Chanterelles are part of an order of about 300 species of mushrooms. Thanks to the yellow cap and the abundance in the Scandinavian countries, it is easy to recognize. However, the species has drastically declined and become rare in several European countries.

This edible mushroom is a delicacy and has even been nicknamed 'forest gold'. It thrives in deciduous and coniferous forests. It occasionally occurs in the downy birch forests of the Nordic Fall, although this is less common.
